One has to create one’s worth in the organization which is bound to be recognized and BOSS has to deliver for survival, therefore, Performer will get its due, may not be in short-term but eventually recognition is bound to come.

Every Manager-Mktg, Production, Sales, Quality etc has to be a bit of HR Manager first, human is supervising other humans, here lies the necessity of human sensitivity. When I was training Production Managers, I used to tell them-if you want to know whether a certain amount of productivity is possible in a certain time, ask the production supervisor, he is the closest person to ship floor workers & he knows the capacity of their people best. A sales manager knows his field salesman best & so on.

Banking being a service industry they cant risk the option neglecting this vital resource, which can only add the value others being facilitator.

A. When CDA rules were formulated directors in other Functional areas did not want any disciplinary powers.CMD was from finance. As a HR head it was an up hill task for me to make them understand the purpose of those rules.
B. Whenever, line people were asked to undergo HR training programmes, they used to ask about their increments and promotions. Such is the attitude of the people towards HR function. I had a tough time in creating awareness.
